How do I care for my GlassWear jewel?Sterling silver is a precious metal which tends to tarnish over time. However with proper care, your silver will retain its natural beauty and shine. Silver that is regularly used typically needs less care. If your jewel requires cleaning, use a mild soap to take off dust and oils. Then rinse the silver thoroughly in luke warm water and carefully dry with a soft cloth. This will remove the dullness, keeping your sterling silver like new. To remove tarnish, you can use an anti-tarnish silver cloth. Special Considerations Chlorine and bleach accelerate tarnishing and should be avoided. Also avoid contact with cosmetics, perfumes and lotions. An oxidised finish is the deliberate blackening of crevices in the ornamentation of a silver object to make its decorative details stand out more clearly. Take care as this finish can be removed by overzealous cleaning and polishing.
-
Are GlassWear pieces very fragile? The glass used in my pieces is not as fragile as you think. It is somewhat like marbles. The spherical shape makes the glass very strong. Off course, care has to be taken like in any other kind of jewelry.
